HHYF SCHOLARSHIPS

Applicants for HHYF scholarships must be at least high school seniors and preferably under the age of 25. The selection criteria for all of the scholarships include demonstrated scholastic achievement, including but not limited to the applicant’s GPA; financial need; completeness of application; and quality of essay (where applicable). The application deadline is June 1.

Harold & Marcia Snyder Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicant must be personally involved in the harness racing industry or have a relative involved. Applicant may or may not be pursuing a career in the harness racing industry. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.

Curt Greene Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship honors the memory of Curt Greene, who served in many capacities in the Standardbred industry after working his way through school. A member of the Harness Racing Hall of Fame Communicator’s Corner, Curt brought energy and enthusiasm to every position he held and this scholarship is intended for those who share his passion for racing.

Eligibility: Applicant must have a keen interest in harness racing. Graduate students are not eligible.

Sweet Karen Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicant must have completed a Harness Horse Youth Foundation summer program from 1999 to present.

Lynn Fortna Financial Assistance Program

Deadline: June 1 and December 30

Eligibility: Applicant must be a young-at-heart female in harness racing who wants to continue her education and/or expand her knowledge of horses.
